History
Built step by step, from trading floor to production floor
Our history is the story of moving steadily upstream — from buying and selling food, to processing it, to growing it ourselves.
Foundation
Trading roots
The business begins as a food trading and distribution operation, moving staples across Cameroonian and Nigerian markets and learning the trade route by route.
Expansion
Into manufacturing
Persistent supply gaps push the company upstream. The first processing lines are commissioned, converting locally grown fruit into juices and nectars.
Integration
Farms and plantations
Bansa Farms is established to secure raw material supply — palm plantations, fruit orchards, vegetables, livestock and poultry.
Scale
Lagos–Badagry operations
Principal operations are consolidated along the Lagos–Badagry Expressway in Abule Oshun, with satellite facilities in Ghana and Cameroon.
Diversification
Beverages, oils and staples
The portfolio widens into bottled water, carbonated soft drinks, dairy beverages, brandy and fruit spirits, edible oils, rice, flour and pasta.
Today
An integrated group
Bansa now spans FMCG manufacturing, farming, agri-investment through FarmShares, agritourism and the Bansa Institute — as part of the Bako Group.

The Bako Group
Bansa Foods Limited is a wholly owned business within the Bako Group, one of Africa's leading diversified conglomerates. Sister businesses include Bansa Africa Limited, Bansa Agro Products, Bako FMCG Limited and Bako Wine & Spirits — a network that gives our brands reach far beyond any single market.
